CQUniversity has purchased a site license for SOPHOS Anti-Virus software which allows for installation for the software on:
- all University owned Computers and;
- CQUniversity staff and student's personal computers.
DISCLAIMER: This software is provided for use by current staff and students of CQUniversity only. An active staff or student account is required to access and keep this software up to date. Once you are no longer an employee or an active student of CQUniversity the software will no longer be able to obtain updates from CQUniversity and you will be required to source an alternative security solution for your personal computers. Please note: That each time you change your university logon password you will also need to change the Sophos update password to ensure the software to keep up to date. |
This guide is designed to assist the home user with their installation on Sophos. Installations of Sophos on University owned machines happens automatically with the installation of the Managed Operating Environment (MOE). If you are using a workstation on campus or have a University supplied mobile computer (laptop) that does not have a recent version of Sophos please contact the ITD Service Desk.
WARNING! Please remove any instances of other virus scanning software from the computer before commencing!
